Help STOP the Ban
on Natural Gas
Converting a Home to All-Electric
will Cost Most Households
$50,000 to $100,000
The Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD)
passed a law banning gas water heaters and furnaces.
Starting on January 1, 2027, it will be illegal to purchase or
install a gas water heater in the 9-county Bay Area.
Before installing electric appliances, significant and expensive
renovations must be made to a home's electrical system.
These renovations can take months and cost tens of thousands of dollars.
